One of those “Do’h!” Moments

Dan Castellaneta who does the voice of Homer Simpson

If you are anything like me, you have probably applied for many jobs in a hurry. Maybe there were four or five great jobs at several tier one companies and the hour was getting late.  You were simply running out of time and patience for filling in the same information over and over. Maybe you entered just the bare essentials (last two jobs with dates indicating the year but not the month and a couple of references) so you could get on to loading your resume and to the final “submit” screen. You might have reasoned that you would go back later to fill in all the missing information.

Did you ever go back and fill in all that missing information?  Probably not. Even worse, have you returned to that company job board repeatedly and applied for several jobs, using that same incomplete information?

In the current job market, when one typo on your resume gets it thrown in the trash 50% of the time, do you think it makes a difference that your on-line profile is incomplete?

Does anyone say “Do’h!” any more?
